Mason Jar Salad recipes are a new popular on-the go and healthy snack. This Tuna Jar recipe was created by Stephanie Checketts Bromley, daughter of member Barbara Checketts. One of the trends that has been seen recently on social media is the “Mason Jar Salad” or a salad in a jar. This healthy, on-the-go, snack is perfect for those who struggle to have the time to make a healthy meal. Members Barbara Checketts and Pamela Haley have been taking advantage of this trend and creating their own salad in a jar recipe.
Tuna Jar Salad
Ingredients
- Creamy vinaigrette
- Red cabbage
- Cauliflower
- Peppers
- Green Onion
- Skipjack tuna with a bit of vegan mayonnaise
- Cucumber
- Lettuce
- Optional: 5-6 crackers on the side
Chicken Jar Salad
Ingrediants
- Chili lime dressing
- Teaspoon of plain goat yogurt • Red cabbage
- Brussels sprouts, shredded • Onions
- Peppers
- Cucumber
- Carrots
- Seasoned chicken
- Apple bits
- Lettuce

Ingredients
- Poppy seed dressing • Peppers
- Cucumbers
- Apple
- Roast chicken
- Indian spiced rice
- Onion
- Lettuce

Mason Jar Shrimp/Lime Salad
Mason Jar Shrimp and Lime Salad, created by member Pamela Haley
Ingredients
- Greens of your choice to fill
- 1/3 cup cooked shrimp
- 1/3 cup asparagus, chopped
- 1/3 cup red onion, chopped
- 1/3 yellow bell pepper, chopped
- 1/3 cup cherry tomato, halved
- 1/3 cup shredded carrots
- 2 tablespoons chili-lime vinaigrette
Instructions
- Bake shrimp at 425 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. Season first with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper, chili powder, oregano, and lime juice.
- Season vegetables with extra virgin olive oil, chili powder, oregano. Cook vegetables at 425 degrees for 15 minutes
- Place all ingredients in 1-quart wide mouth mason jar.
Lime Vinaigrette Recipe
- 3 tablespoons of lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Jar Bean Salad
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- Handful of spring mix
- 1/3 cup spinach or bibb lettuce
- 1/3 cup feta cheese
- Chopped 1 stalk celery or 1/3 cup chopped carrots
- 1/3 cup seedless grapes, halved
- 1/3 cup black beans, rinsed
- 2 tablespoons vinaigrette
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into 1 quart mouth-wide mason jar
- Build bottom up, pour out into salad bowl to eat.
Note: Keeps for several days refrigerated.

Ingredients
- Handful of spring mix
- 1/3 cup skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup baby spinach or bibb lettuce
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved • 1/3 cup shredded carrots
- 1/3 cup yellow bell pepper, chopped
- 1/3 cup cucumber, sliced
- 1/3 cup red cabbage, shredded
- 2 tablespoons vinaigrette
Instructions
- Bake chicken at 425 degrees seasoned with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Put ingredients into one quart wide-mouth mason jar
- Build bottom-up
- Pour in salad bowl to eat
Note: If tomatoes are used, eat within two days
