1: How did you come to Beverly’s program?
After taking care of my husband for 3 years, I caught up on my own health needs. My bone scans showed Osteopenia in 3 areas. I signed up for Bev’s class around 2016/17 and never stopped.
2. How has it helped you?
With the help of Bev’s exercises, diet advice (water, water, water) and incorporating everyday lifestyle changes, my bone scan improved in two areas and remained unchanged in another. My doctor who pushed for drug treatment said “just keep up the good work”. I fell while attempting to jump over a dog gate and fractured my collarbone. The Orthopedist was very impressed w the quick recovery for my age.
3. Favorite part of class?
I enjoy “modeling “, weights and floor exercises (except the plan).
4. How do you find time to strengthen & exercise outside of class?
I begin my day with some exercises in bed including Feldenkrais. I walk MacDuff (10 y/o rescue) and in good weather and swim-walk in my pool.
5. Interests and hobbies?
I have lived in my 190 year old colonial for 53 years. So upkeep and the 3.5 acres keeps me busy. I love to cook and travel. I have been to Bermuda many times, Italy, Great Britain (walked the Cotswold trail), France several times and Ireland, Wales and Iceland. Last year I celebrated my 80th w a family trip to Martha’s Vineyard and the Grand Canyon. My daughter and I did a cooking and wine tour in Italy and are returning in May 2026. I also collect Toby jugs and souvenir creamers. My Grandmother started the collection, and I now have over 800!
I love the Calcium Café and encourage everyone to attend. We not only share wonderful recipes but also stories and laughter. I usually share my Kale/Brussel Sprout salad which is good even though I don’t really like either. Recipe is on the Osteofitness website.
I continue to “enjoy” classes and my massage therapy w Bev. She is not only a great advisor and knowledgeable teacher but I consider her a good friend.
