We have an amazing body that reports to our brain constantly our position in space. This is done with the contribution of proprioceptor sensors throughout the body…When there is a danger of falling, the brain immediately alerts the muscles necessary to avert the fall; we call this retrieval.
There are many drills that, if done daily, can effectively improve proprioception, prevent a fall and probably a fracture.
In Osteofitness TM, we seriously practice a variety of balance and proprioception drills. But I want to introduce you to our newest member of the fall prevention team..
Ocular drills (eyeball movement).
These are best taught in demonstration
Consider joining Osteofitness or sign up for a 30 minute mini session. See website for details
But in the meantime, I would like to leave you with an important eye saver for eyestrain. It is called 20 20 20
Every 20 minutes look at a point 20 feet away and blink 20 times
Enjoy less eye strain !
